Steampunk ray gun
Well two weeks to the Steampunk event and , i'm in final prep for mine and my wifes costumes.
In view of the fact that we are having another attempt at the world record for the number of Steampunks in a single place at the the same time, i needed to create my better half a weapon of some kind.
A trip to the local pound store provided the ideal water pistol to mod into a steampunk ray gun , I have attached a picture below of before i started and after i had finished adorning it with various bits from my spares drawers.

Waste Paper Bin Of The Future
Absolutely love this. And its probably more of a need than a want, very clever use of a Kinect and robotic elements to work out spacial trajectory to where the paper will be and move the an intercepting location.

Well its the Saturday before Easter and after a very chilled and lazy 'Good Friday' I decided i needed to kick things up a gear. I must admit i didn't arise till 9:20am as I was deeply engrossed in several chapters of 'Restaurant at the end of the Universe'.
I spent the morning in a small 6 x 3 room (I bet you cant guess what its used for) gloss painting the woodwork.
After a discussion with my good lady she informed me that she no longer wanted the free standing toilet paper holder and wanted a wall mounted device. I braved the DIY shops only to find that it was impossible to purchase a suitable item without it being part of a set of bathroom soap dishes and shower accessories . As i have no need for these items i decided to set about manufacturing one from the pieces I have in my garage. I ended up with a slightly Steampunk brass and steel affair . I have enclosed a picture below so you can see i installed in its working environment.
